What the Bible Says About the Fatherless

What DOES the Bible say about the fatherless? Several years ago, I was assigned a term paper in college which eventually led me to look up every verse in the Bible that used the word “fatherless”. I was amazed at what I found! The word is there 43 times! But the context around each one of those usages makes them even more powerful. So,  in the fall of 2011 I began a series of blogs that works its way through each of these. We made it all the way through the Old Testament! The blogs were posted to the FTN website, but as we begin looking at the New Testament I felt this blog is a better spot for them, it offers greater functionality and fewer technical problems. It also has the potential to reach more people with this very important message, which is something that is very important! (Please share them with others!)

So, without further ado, Let’s begin. The Old Testament blogs will be transferred over here, one week at a time. Unless in re-posting I find some glaring error, only the first 5 will be changed. Those 5 have been put into a more devotional format rather than the original “20 Questions” format. Each day’s posting will be posted separately, but they will all be indexed here on this page. Once the Old Testament series has been re-posted, Lord willing, the New Testament Posts will be ready as well!
I pray that the Lord will use this to stir many hearts not just with the “needs” of the fatherless, but to the obedience of God’s commands concerning them.
