Update on Mom
The weeks have flown by in a whirl of activity. We are praising the Lord for His intervention and help in so many areas surrounding Mom’s cancer. The great news is that the doctor felt chemo treatments would not be necessary at this time! We will continue to go back for various tests and scans every three months for the next couple of years to keep an eye on things, but for now we’re able to just focus on recovery from the surgery. Because of the nature of the surgery, recovery is slow. But we see continued progress and that is wonderful!
Friday Bible Study
We are rejoicing about the things God has done at FTN over the last few weeks as well. We’ve had several new faces at Friday Bible study and two ladies joined me for church as well. What a blessing!
Volunteers
We’re also preparing for a volunteer meeting to be held June 7th at Grace Baptist Church. If you’re in the Billings area, we’d love to have you join us to learn more about how you can be involved.
Training Course
For several years, Pastor Ken Spilger and I have been talking about a course that will help equip believers in their ministry to the fatherless and widows. The last time I worked on this course, the process was interrupted by my dad’s unexpected homegoing. As the years have passed and my own experiences have grown, I’ve learned so much and seen that the course needed to take a different approach altogether. I’m excited to share that we are back in the planning stages of this and will be sharing it with Pastor Spilger’s church in St. Louis this fall.
I ask that you pray specifically and fervently for this. Satan is fighting with a ferocity that I can’t even describe. He knows that these children are close to the heart of God. He knows this ministry is part of the worship GOD ordained for His people, and he does not want us to succeed in it. We know that God has already won the war, and we ask for your strengthening prayer for this particular battle.
We are rejoicing in all that He is doing. As blogs go, this is one of the shortest I have ever written. But, time is scarce these days. I ask for your continued prayer for Mom’s healing and for His continued strength for the day to day. Truly He bears us up!
“Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.”
