Kenya 2012 Trip Update 1

“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24

Anytime we step out to do the Lord’s work Satan steps up to do his best to waylay it. Whether through trials, discouragements, delays – he always finds ways to attack. Planning for this trip has been no different. But we have made a commitment to the Lord, and more than that we know that He is able to keep EVERYTHING that we have committed to Him.
Please Keep Praying!

Kenya: Please be praying for the Sangs as the work daily with the children and staff of the Lifeway Academy and with the ministry of the Lifeway Baptist Church. Be praying that the Lord will be preparing the hearts of those we will come in contact with during this trip, that they will be hungry for and open to the Word of God and that souls would be saved!
Team Members: For the full amount of time off of work and provision of funds for the trip. (Ticket prices have gone up tremendously since we first started planning. Please be praying that the Lord would lead us to just the right tickets.) Also, for health, strength and wisdom in preparing.
Projects:

  1. VBS – Please be praying for us as we prepare for the Vacation Bible School. Lord willing we will have a minimum of 195 children in attendance, so we are preparing for more! If you would be interested in helping us gather the items needed for crafts please let me know.
  2. Sewing and Bible Studies – I have thoroughly been enjoying getting started on the Bible studies! Please be praying for continued wisdom as I prepare them. Please be praying for us as we work on putting together the sewing projects and kits that we will be taking along. If you would be interested in helping us gather the items needed for the kits and/or assembling them please let me know! We will gladly put you to work! J
  3. Construction Project – This is still a huge matter of prayer. Please be praying for the Lord’s will in this matter. I do not believe that it is His desire for the school to close, please be praying that we will know exactly how He wants us to approach this situation. Please also be praying that we will be able to make contact with a certain individual with regard to this project.

Please be praying for a young man named Noah. Through an unusual series of events I found out that he is studying at a college where I pick people up for church three times a week – he is from the town where the Sangs go to do their major shopping! I contacted the college today and left my information so that he can get in touch with me if he wants to send anything to his family. I am praying that the Lord will give us opportunity to share Christ not only with him but with his family in Kenya as well!
