Theme: 2021 Backpacks for Kids
Can you believe August is nearly here? And with August comes the school year and Backpacks for Kids!
Since 2017, FTN has provided backpacks and school supplies for children in our community. We select these children carefully and prayerfully. This year we have chosen to focus on a smaller group of children (just 9), but these children are very special.
Last year, due to COVID, we were not able to do Backpacks. Many of you expressed that you had been looking forward to helping and were disappointed when we couldn’t do it. We were so encouraged by your desire to help others! And now is your chance to bless these families, help lift the load, and share the love of Christ in a tangible way!
This year, we’re doing things a little differently. We’ve set up an Amazon Charity List to make shopping easy and convenient. This will also help us with the gathering, sorting, assembling and distributing. To access the list, purchase the items, and ship them to FTN just following the link below. In order to make the deadline, we need all items to arrive at FTN no later than August 11th!

Special Books for the Backpacks
We also would like to include a set of children’s books based on the Psalms. These books were a huge help in my life as a young child. They are out of print, but we have found a website that has almost all of the books in the set. If you would like to contribute to the cost of these books, just click the button below! (We estimate the total cost will be between $150 – $200.)
One Last Way You Can Help.
This year we may need help with gathering, sorting, and assembling. Due to continuing health issues, I will be having minor surgery the week before we need to deliver the backpacks, which puts a little extra pressure on things. We’d like to try to assemble and deliver everything Thursday and Friday, August 12-13th. If you would be interested in helping us pull everything together, that would be amazing!!!
